In 2018, I was at a loss. My father passed away. My partner passed away and I had a huge health scare with my blood pressure and risking a heart attack - I was only 39.
My sister had been sharing about Young Living products for months but I hadn't jumped on the bandwagon just yet until that doctor appointment. I was highly stuck on drinking chemical energy drinks and they had to go. I did my due diligence and researched Young Living to find scientific research, studies and distillation / farming practices that sang to my biology / conservation loving heart. I swapped my crazy caffeine cans for Ningxia antioxidant juice and grabbed a diffuser with oils in hopes I could relax and finally catch up on sleep. Two weeks in and I noticed resting better, better energy and less fogginess. I was becoming a product of the product.
I had a jarring realization that, now widowed, I was responsible for all the bills but my paycheck couldn't cover it. I needed a second job but the weight of finding one in the midst of grief was daunting. My sister brought up that I loved Young Living products already so why not start sharing and build a business?
I looked at the YLIncome Disclosure & I chose a goal to hit the Silver Rank which averages about $1500 a month. That would keep me above the line. So I ran for it. I shared it with everyone.
My first check was around $100. Then $300, $800 and in 4 months I reached my goal of Silver then held it for 4 years while working full time in animal care. Year 5 I decided to focus more and grew to Gold and now I am at Platinum. The Income disclosure shows that averages $13k a month. I was in a place where I could step away from the lockdown of a 9-5 and started to do YL full time.
Did it take effort? YES!
Was it overnight? NO!
